Gustavo Zinkewich and Lucia Urioste hold Master Degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning. Both have taught at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Uruguay, Gustavo as Assistant Professor of Design and Lucia as Assistant Professor of Structural Stability. Lucia also worked at the School of Architecture's Institute of Construction, co-authoring a Manual of Specifications on Materials and Procedures.
The team has dedicated over thirty years of professional experience to the design and construction of residential and commercial projects, both domestically and internationally. Their work encompasses not only the design phase, but also a close and comprehensive follow up, including logistics, budgeting, scheduling and project management.
ZU+ Studio has designed and managed a wide variety of projects commissioned by top interior designers and high-end contractors, as well as by private clients. These include several residences in California and Hawaii, including houses for prominent personalities in the world of art and sports.
Their versatility in designs reflects the architects' broad knowledge of exclusive and rare finishing materials of the highest quality and their passion for detail. They place great importance on proportion, flow spaces and the connection between interior and exterior spaces. Each project is deeply connected to its surroundings and bears in mind the particular conditions of the enviroment.
